Deck Wish List for 2020

Around this time every year I take a look at the decks I’ve wanted but still don’t have. The list gets shorter each year, not because I’ve been buying a lot of decks (I haven’t) but because my interests have been changing as I focus more on the Tarot de Marseille and other historical decks in my practice, along with Lenormand and Kipper. However, the professional side of that practice still relies on RWS-style decks because that’s what most people recognize, and there are a couple I’d like to have; very few of those are newer decks because I find that too many recent designs have tried and failed to reinvent the wheel of tarot iconography. The other decks tend to be European in origin and the cost of both buying and shipping is a consideration in deciding whether I’m ever going to own them. Rising prices are also a deterrent across the board.

This list isn’t in order of preference, just loosely organized by style, and it’s quite possible that I’ll only buy one or two. If and when I do, I’ll review them here.
